Private professional confidential counselling for adults and young people in St Neots and the surrounding Villages of Cambridgeshire
I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of BACP (British association of counselling and psychotherapy) I have experience of working with people from all walks of life and age groups . I have a background in Education and social care having previously worked in teaching ,social work and as a secondary school counsellor supporting students and staff. I offer friendly professional support to help you through difficult or troubling times.
It's good to talk, being really heard and understood is where professional counselling can I believe really make a difference to your day to day health and well being. I am kind, caring and friendly with the goal of offering you a space where you can explore your feelings in safety and confidence without the fear of judgement. Whether it is to 'get things off your chest' or simply talk about what is troubling you, it could be a past event or something that happened yesterday.
HOW COUNSELLING CAN HELP YOU - MY APPROACH-
I am an integrative practitioner which means I draw on a number of theoretical models to meet your individual needs. My core way of working is Person-Centred, so first and foremost I will talk to you about what you would like to gain from counselling and support you to achieve your personal goals. I also offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to address specific problems which may benefit from a more structured approach. Other approaches include solution focussed brief therapy, transactional analysis and I am comfortable working through the medium of art and crafts. This can be particularly therapeutic for younger people and for those who find it easier to express themselves through the medium of art
I have extensive work experience of working with children and young people as a secondary school counsellor supporting young people in particular to overcome the ever growing pressures of school life; exam nerves, stress, anxiety and panic .I am also keen to support women whose mental health has been affected by the menopause.
